Working
I have been making jewelry and objects for more than thirty years. Most days I am  in my basement making art, Future plans for  Lovely Hammer include a retail location, with an on site studio, and classes.
Please check for updates.

Fire, ore, stone, and Tools
The work here and on the following pages
is made from silver, gold, copper, and gems
using fabrication techniques.. With a jeweler's saw, I cut out many pieces and solder them together piece by piece. Along the way, the work is stamped with  handmade tools, hammered, folded, bent, polished, brushed, and oxidized.
Technique for me is a means to an end.
In this case, the end is a narrative or an object that could have been plucked from the narrative!

Ideas
The work comes from my life so far and from things I enjoy. Some of these are animals and the spirit of animals, rusty farm implements,
work by artisans of Early Christian Art, toys,
illuminated manuscripts, imagined spaces and times, travelling circuses, irrational pursuits,
story telling and humor.
